Bents Annexe
Our brief for this project was to remove the existing workshops to the rear of the property in the garden and replace these with a one bedroom annexe, which would allow a dependent relative to live independently. The annexe was designed with a separate entrance to provide both privacy and at the same time allowing connection to the family. The bedroom was designed so that the dependent relative could have views over the garden from the comfort of the bedroom, but also with an underroof seating area which is sheltered to sit out in the sun while being protected from the weather. The building is a very contemporary style of construction with an innovative design and modern ribbed powder coated steel cladding, this is roofed on the sides and walls and a covered seating area was designed in a welcoming timber finish. The family house benefitted from an open plan living and dining area that was extended to the rear.
